*Chocolate - contains a substance that is toxic to animals. Signs of overdose include: depression, vomiting, diarrhea, accelerated heart rate, panting or increased breathing rate.

Cats

*Cow's Milk - surprisingly, most cats are lactose intolerant -- lacking the enzyme needed to digest milk sugars. Drinking milk can cause digestive problems, even diarrhea. If your cat likes milk, try Catsip, lactose-free milk with taurine.

*Raw Eggs - contains a protein that can block the effectiveness of one of the B vitamins; may cause dermatitis, hair loss or neurological problems.

*Tuna - do not offer as a regular food; tuna is too low in calcium and too high in phosphorus to serve as a regular ration.
